Nestled at the foot of the Makhonjwa Mountains, Fountain Baths Guest Cottages was built in 1884, first as a public bathhouse for the gold miners. It is the site of the first swimming pool in the old Transvaal.

Lush gardens make it a birders paradise, and vervet monkeys, bush babies and porcupines are regular visitors. Part of the oldest rock formation can be found in the gardens, 4,600 million years old.

All accommodation is B&B, either Continental or English, and caters for vegetarians. 4 cottages have cooking facilities including microwaves and fridges each En Suite, and all with their own entrances into the garden. All rooms are Non Smoking, Braais are available.

Cottages sleep from 1-4 persons, 20 beds in total.. We have a bar on the premises with Sports DSTV. The car park is off street, under carports. Security patrol each night. We have a white board for small conferences and photocopy and fax machines are available.

We are situated next to the museum and within walking distance from the main town, shops, bars and restaurants. Horse riding, hiking, paragliding are all available close by .It is great 4x4 country. Gold mine tours and gold panning is also available by booking at the information office.
