For years locals and tourists would stop at Bosveld Slaghuis, the Lowveld’s most renowned butchery situated just outside Hoedspruit, for biltong and venison. The butchery has closed, but in its place is a trendy little shopping centre that has become “the place” to stop, shop and eat.
Cooked - an open-air, café-style restaurant with a small but tasty menu, offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Next door is Safari Wines, with its large selection of South African wines and a fine selection of locally-produced craft beer and gin. Gin and wine tasting evenings are held occasionally.
For gifts, art and home décor, spend some time browsing through the packed shelves at Kumbaya.
A Farmer’s Market is held at Bosveld Centre on the first Saturday of every month, where wonderful fresh produce and homemade preserves are on sale. Bosveld Centre is situated just off the R40, 2km south of Hoedspruit.
Kruger Lowveld offers a large variety of accommodation, places to go and things to do. Find it all here...
